We had another piece rejected by BuzzFeed. We’ll get there one day. In the mean time, we’ll run it here for your pleasure!
We all know and love Fight Club. But a lot of you have been watching it the wrong way. We’re here to uncover the big secret you’ve all overlooked.
At the beginning of the film, we meet a character played by Edward Norton who has no name. We’ll just call him The Narrator.
The Narrator later meets someone named Tyler Durden on a plane. Tyler Durden is a totally separate character played by Brad Pitt … or so we think.
Edward and Tyler become friends.
And then they start fighting, because it feels good.
They eventually start a Fight Club (the name of the movie!) and fight each other from time to time, further cementing that they are two separate people.
The Narrator is really tired. He’s not sure why. And he’s sad because his best friend Tyler isn’t around as much anymore.
Why is The Narrator tired? BECUASE TYLER DURDEN DOESN’T EXIST. THE NARRATOR IS TYLER. TYLER IS THE NARRATOR.
