We thought we’d update everyone on the results of the Romer, PA mayoral election, given how hotly contested it seemed to be right here on this very site!
- Manuel Slickerson (REPUBLICAN) — 4%
- Domonic Johnson (LIBERTARIAN) — 2%
- Richard McTrust (DEMOCRAT) — 94%
We’re sad that our two sponsors couldn’t pull out the victory, but definitely thrilled to see democracy in action. Good luck next year, guys!
This is really getting out of hand.
The Slick Manny Mayoral Campaign is sponsoring the site today. They wanted to launch an attack ad against the response to their last attack ad. Sorry, Dom. The money’s really helping out around the house. Bonicia can finally afford those braces she needs!
The Fat Dom For Mayor campaign is once again sponsoring the site. They wanted to respond to last week’s attack ad.
Crap. We forgot about the whole “equal time” rule again. Sorry, Dom. It’s the law.
Our good friend Fat Dom was justifiably pissed about the ad we accepted on the site last week. We’re giving him the below ad on the house as an apology. Get out the vote for Dom, people!
Fat Dom’s a good friend and a paying sponsor, but we were offered a huge chunk of change to run this ad on the site. Sorry, Dom. We promise we’ll donate some of it to your efforts.
All right, we didn’t realize what we were getting into. We hoped our satisfaction of the equal time rule last week would put an end to the political advertising on the site, but Fat Dom’s campaign offered us a little money to run this. We’re broke, so it was hard to turn down.
We promise we’re done with this now. Best of luck to both candidates.
We have to plead ignorance on this one. Nick and I had no idea about the “equal time rule” until we were contacted by Fat Dom’s opponent over the weekend. Apparently we need to let him run an ad here for free since we did the same for our pal Dom. So here it is:
We’ll get back to regular programming tomorrow. Sorry for another political interruption.
Our good friend Fat Dom is currently running for mayor of Romer, PA. When he asked us if he could run one of his ads on our site, we couldn’t possibly turn him down.
Best of luck, Dom! Get out the vote, John and Nick fans!
